While there are lot of tips on managing your Facebook page, the simplest mistake you can make is setting up your Facebook page without giving it the necessary tweaks that can help your business gain more visibility. Tools for the Task Ahead:
You will need the following tools to make your task easier.
- A Facebook profile.
- A cover image with dimensions (815width and 315 height )
- Your logo in a square format.
- Your keywords
How to create a Facebook business page :
1. Use your profile
You can create a business page directly on Facebook by registering a new account with them and using it to setup your page but it is more advisable to use your own profile page to start your business page. This can give your page the traction its needs to get started. Once done, you have the option of inviting your friends to like your Facebook page easily.
Login into your Facebook account and stroll down to the footer where you see Create Page. Click it.
2. Choose your category. You have the option of choosing a page for :
A. Local place or business
B. Company, organization or Institution
C. Brand or product
D. Artist, band or Public figure
E. Entertainment
F. Cause or community
Depending on your interest, you will need to pick one of the categories above. Pick the one that closely describe your aim. But as we creating a page for a business, we will pick the option: company, organization or institution.
After wards choose your category, enter the name of your company and accept Facebook terms and condition.
3. Here you are presented with a screen that allows you to describe your business.
Add a description: If you have setup a website, you can use the description tag in your website to help in filling this page. If not, you will need to come up with a description that correctly defines your website. Try to include your keyword phrase in your description. In the second field ,Add your website: Type your website URL address
Pick a name for your Facebook page
Choose the Yes option in the next filed
When asked if this is the official page, pick yes option
Click save info
4. Profile Picture
On this next screen, you are presented with two options. You may pick an image from a location on your computer or you pick from your website. You have the option of even skipping this option.
With Facebook and internet, image is everything. Facebook images come in two types. You will need a cover image to add live to your page and a logo images. Your cover image should come in a recommended size of and your logo image should be square. Here is a sample of a Facebook page with cover image and logo image.
5. Add to favorite for easy access or skip.
Immediately, this part is done, you will be taken to the homepage of your business page.
Click on Edit page and then Update page info. This takes you to the setting’s page.
On this page, you are going to work on making sure that you fill all the necessary field paying particular attention to the Short Description and Long Description column.
In the Short Description and Long description, fill in the column and make sure that your keyword is mention at least once. You may use the Title tag of your website to come up with the appropriate word to use.
This is the default information you need to use in setting up a Facebook business page that has the potential to get found easily by search engines.
Bonus Tips:
Click on the setting tab. You might want to leave all these setting as it is for now. As you familiarize yourself with Facebook, you can come back to change it.
Setup admin roles. Admin roles enable others to post and edit settings within your page. Be careful what role you assign and who you assign it to. Type in a friend’s name and assign the necessary role. You can assign roles:
A. Manager
B. Moderator
C. Content creator
D. Advertiser
E. Insight analysis.
